Foil Blocking and the environment
Foil Blocking and the environment
With the world being keen on products that need to be environmentally friendly and recyclable people ask, is foil blocking eco friendly? The answer is Yes. We are proud to say that foiling is a dry process that does not use any volitile chemicals in its operation and no chemical clean up is required. The vast majority of paper and card are now FSC certified ( meaning that they are produced from managed forests ) and there are more coming on the market on a regular basis that are being made from other materials such as cotton and recycled fibres. Combining these papers with foil blocking will automatically make you think that the foil makes it a non recyclable material as it looks metallic. This is not the case. The Foil Stamping And Embossing Association (FS&EA) conducted a study into the recycling process of foil printed materials. The study concluded that a foil printed item is considered to be recyclable and compostable and can be safely sent to be re-processed at the normal facilities.
